For those that are new to the community, I thought I would share the story of how it came to be.
The VoiceActorsConnect.com Story
The idea for VoiceActorsConnect.com came to me at the start of the pandemic. As the world suddenly shifted to remote work, many of my voice-over friends found themselves without home recording setups or Source Connect accounts. It was a bit of a scramble! So, I decided to roll up my sleeves and help over 20 of them set up their home studios and get their Source Connect accounts running.
This whole experience was a bit of a revelation. Not only did we manage to solve the immediate problem, but it also reminded me of how much I missed my amazing actor friends and our in-person recording sessions. There’s something special about the energy and creativity that comes from working together in the same space.
That’s when the lightbulb moment happened: why not create a network where all my voice-over friends can gather, share resources, and support each other, no matter where we are? And thus, VoiceActorsConnect.com was born!
Think of it as a virtual hangout for voice actors. It’s a place where we can all stay connected, swap tips and tricks, and continue to collaborate, even if we’re miles apart. Whether you need advice on setting up a home studio, tips on landing gigs, or just a friendly chat with fellow voice actors, VoiceActorsConnect.com is the place to be.
Creating this network felt like the perfect way to bring our community back together. It’s not just about the technical stuff – it’s about reigniting that sense of camaraderie and fun we had in person.
